SOME DAY

Life often requires us to make choices, such as our choice of food, priority of things to do, our posture when interacting with others, words and phrases we deploy. In fact, we are often forced to make choices. People are forced to make changes in response to the global pandemic.

Description

Life often requires us to make choices, such as our choice of food, priority of things to do, our posture when interacting with others, words and phrases we deploy. In fact, we are often forced to make choices. People are forced to make changes in response to the global pandemic. The hustle and bustle of life is long gone. The only constant has been thy, standing amidst the chaos and longing for the past tranquility.

What will tranquility look like if it has a shape?

Located in the Liugui District of Kaohsiung City, the Suai-A-Ka Culture Sharing Space creates a living space in harmony with the earth, using the architectural wisdom passed down from earlier generations to discover the possibilities of living in harmony with the earth and nature, and to practice a simple and natural lifestyle. The people here who have been through plenty of ups and downs, have blended their observations and appreciations of life into pottery craftsmanship, achieving the ideals of co-living, inheri- tance and simplicity via the creation of life’s sense of rituals.

Food is a mandatory part of life. Enjoy the moment while appreciating the food on your plate, or having a chat with those sharing the dining table, share what’s on your mind over food and pour out your unhappiness. Life’s sense of rituals are the manifestations of one’s emotions into enjoyment, creating resonances with the present and reveling in the wonders of life.

The shape of tranquility can be reflected by the laughter emanating from a group of diners at one table, or by the quiet dignity displayed at another table with a single diner.

The moment when ripples appear The lowest point
The days of self-recovery
Ups and downs
Accompanying each other amidst the tranquility Throughout twelve years

The product layout reflects the sense of rituals upon opening the box. A table mat, a chopstick holder, and a pair of chopsticks, a glimpse of someday. Selection of high-grade translucent paper to portray one’s instincts through the transparent stamp, and experiencing joy when discovering the semi-sandwiched structure, the same emotions experienced when retrieving the product from the kiln at Suai-A-Ka space. Layers of accumulated experiences demonstrate the passage of time. The vicissitudes and recovery process eventually become the vessels of food, carrying the hopes of someday in the future.

KEEPING EACH OTHER COMPANY TILL SOMEDAY, LEAVING BEHIND THE TRACKS OF TRANQUILITY

Using “someday” as a name and “time and company” as an axis, we see ripples culminated from the vicissitudes of the last 12 years, illustrating how one’s inner self can be soothed through company and a down-to-earth lifestyle. The overall packaging form is designed to minimize waste in structure and printing, so as to demonstrate harmony with the earth: a gift box prepared for someday, and carefully selected paper to present simplicity.

Suai-A-Ka is a simple space with company. Here we digest our emotions and direct our first glance to the gift box. These are twelve years of vicissitudes, gradually consolidating and expanding in the vessel they sit in, accompanying every broken heart. The dot stamping process illustrates the initial art therapy. The caterpillar chopsticks stand is inconspicuous yet in absolute existence. It is manifested in three circles with pearl films printed on the corners of the package, accompanying and growing with space.
